Determine the slope of a line perpendicular to the line of the given equations y=7x+5 4y=-x-8 4x+y=11 Can someone show me how to do this or give me the answer to the first one as an example?

a perpendicular line has a slope that is the negative reciprocal of the original line. So, once a line is in y=mx+b form, then any line with the slope -1/m is perpendicular. so for your first example a perpendicular line would be y=(-1/7)x
