Help checking on my Adverbs homework? I may need help understanding them more. For all the questions, we have to identify the word modified by the adverb (which will be in all caps). And the one I chose will have an (*) next to it. 1. Enrigue ALWAYS keeps the members of the swim team in stitches. -Enrique -keeps* 2. YESTERDAY, he solemnly asked someone for directions in a fake language. -he -asked* 3. Occasionally, he dresses his little brother and cheerfully sends him to preschool with his clothes ON backward. -backward -sends*
4. Southwest deserts appear TOTALLY empty of life. -empty -appear* 5. Many animals, birds, and insects survive very WELL in this barren land. -very -survive* 6. The older dolphins and their trainers preformed daily water shows INDOORS. -preformed* -water shows
Adverbs describe verbs, not nouns. I checked your work, and all of your answers are correct. Also, for future reference, adverbs can describe adjectives and other adverbs as well.
3 and 4 are not right but the rest are...I just did this.
