a welder earns $20 an hour for the first 40 hours she works in a week and $30 for every hour over 40 hours. Determine a piece wise function f(x) that can be used to determine the welder's earnings when she works for x hours in a week
f(x)= 20x if x≤40 f(x)= 30X if x> 40
The equation has if 0<x< than or equal to 0 for one of them the other i put 8000+30(x-40) if x is greater than or equal to 40
Can you come up with something that includes if 0<x< or equal to 0?
do you mean 0<x< or = 40?
Sadly no its says if 0<x<_0
which confuses me considering i could easily come up with other equations not involving that restriction :l
might that be a type, because it's saying that x is greater than 0 but also less than or equal to zero, which is impossible
it may be i dont know lol my teacher never mentioned it and i didnt notice till much later today anyways i ll just ask her in the morning thanks for your help illl ummm give you the best response i guess :P
thanks, sorry i couldn't help more
