I think we should graph this first :D The more the data sticks together and goes up the more it will be correlated! The less the data sticks together the data will be decreasing and it will be less correlated!

If you have access to software, this is very easy to do. Otherwise, the calculation is easy, but very tedious \[ \dfrac{\sum_{i=1}^n(x_i-\bar{x})(y_i-\bar{y})}{\sqrt{\sum_{i=1}^n(x_i-\bar{x})^2}\sqrt{\sum_{i=1}^n(y_i-\bar{y})^2}}\]

Ok so... add all x up and divide it add all y up and divide it divide them by the total number did you get the mean of x and y Think that should help you, Im not sure how else to explain it. Also this is all I remember...

Ok so all i really know is that in correlation the 2 sets have a measurable linear relationship known as the correlation coefficient. The correlation coefficient is between -1.0 and +1.0, and can indicate the correlation between the variables is positive or negative or no correlation.

yes I got it right can you help with this Given the data set for the size of a student's house in square feet and the age of the student, hypothesize a relationship between the variables. I would expect the data to be positively correlated. I would expect the data to be negatively correlated. I would expect no correlation. There is not enough information to determine correlation.
