You make a square connecting the points making a right triangle. Rise is how much you go up in the square and run is how much you go across at the bottom the right triangle |dw:1410300713772:dw|

just think of it like this, 10,2. Do rise divided by the run which you get..... 10/2 = 5. Hope this helped out mate
