@phi ?

OpenStudy (phi):

exactly what is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking - 6/7 is greater than -1/7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Were trying to figure out is - 6/7 and -1/7 are greater than less than or equal to each other.

OpenStudy (phi):

you have to get clear what we mean by less than. Less than means a number is "on the left side" if you plot them on a number line. example: 1 is less than 2 (1 < 2) (we put the "small pointy side of < next to the smaller number, and the "fat side" of < next to the bigger number) |dw:1410302727773:dw|

Right. =) I'm following so far.

OpenStudy (phi):

-1/7 is less than 0 (to the left of zero) but not as far left as -1 |dw:1410302842025:dw|
