A picture has a height that is 4/3 its width. It is to be enlarged to have an area of 192 square inches. What will be the dimensions of the enlargement?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

|dw:1410305853946:dw| \(\bf area = height \cdot width\implies area = \frac{4}{3}w\cdot w \\ \quad \\ area = \frac{4}{3}w^2\implies {\color{brown}{ 192}}= \frac{4}{3}w^2\implies {\color{brown}{ 192}}= \frac{4w^2}{3}\) solve for "w" to get the width once you get that, to find its height, well, just get 4/3 of that :)
