An atom of tin has a diameter of about 2.7×10 ^-8 cm. What is the radius of a tin atom in Ångströms and in meters? How many Sn atoms would have to be placed side-by-side to span a distance of 8.0 micro meters? Tom is assumed to be a spear what is the volume in centimeters cubed of a singl Sn atom? (Vol. of sphere: 4/3 pi r^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey buddy

OpenStudy (aaronq):

so for the first part, it's just a unit conversion, \(1 ~A=1.0*10^{-10}m\)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

you should do them and i'll check them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did do them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry its glitching

OpenStudy (aaronq):

oh, soooo, you just wanna talk to me eh? loljk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eh nooooo but i know i did them wrong

OpenStudy (aaronq):

lol show me what you did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok sorry i neede dto turn off the ipad... So what i did was 2.7 x10^-8 cm / 2 (1 m/ 100 com) = 1.35 x 10^-10 m and then i divided by 10^-10 and got 1.35 angstroms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100 cm not com

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yeah, thats right. lol why are you doubting yourself

OpenStudy (aaronq):

now you know the size of it in meters, work with that for the next part 1 \(\mu m=1.0*10^{-6}m\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok second part So u would just convert the meters to micrometers then multiply by two bc its diameter and then divide 8 micrometers by that value?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yeah that definitely works

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok what about the last part, Its just inputting values right?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

lol i dont know what this means "Tom is assumed to be a spear" but yes, just divide the diameter in cm by 2, then plug and chug

OpenStudy (aaronq):

ohh tin is assumed to be a sphere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Omg sorry hahaha. I used the voice thingy omg haha thats hilarious

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its such an inaccurate form of writing, it misinterprets what you say

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Writing "

OpenStudy (aaronq):

lol yeah, specially if you're using "technical" terms like sphere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No joke i actually burst out laughing haha

OpenStudy (aaronq):

LOL easily amused huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was so in the zone i forgot to check

OpenStudy (aaronq):

haha "in the zone". sooo you got more questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No i dont but i was like what is he talking about? Then i looked

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i'm just teasing ya.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its cool but im still grinning, you made my day haha technically i made my day but whatever the credit doesnt matter

OpenStudy (aaronq):

LOL yeah, i was like huh, you copied and pasted wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha i cant im going to like pee in my pants

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do that alot

OpenStudy (aaronq):

pee your pants?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

hahahha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not the peeing part the mistakes, like this one

OpenStudy (aaronq):

OH haha silly ipads

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Trix are for kids haha, sorry that reminded me of the yogurt commercial haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Silly rabbit...

OpenStudy (aaronq):

haha trix yogurt? no way. you know we should've actually be chatting on this, i always tell people not to. I feel like a hypocrite lol

OpenStudy (aaronq):

shouldnt***

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha sorry, i bring the rebel out of you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will chat with u, u know where

OpenStudy (aaronq):

haha yep, okay then !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (aaronq):
