Who was Helen Keller and why was she important? *in your own words*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She was a woman, born without sight/hearing. Anything specific you wanted to know?

OpenStudy (shelby1290):

Why is she important/relevant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, actually she wasn't born with it. She had an illness as an infant that caused her to lose the ability to see and hear.

OpenStudy (shelby1290):

Did she create a movement of any kind?

OpenStudy (shelby1290):

like what else is there about her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, although she lost those senses, she was a very smart girl. She learned how to read (in Braille), write and talk. She also wrote a book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She helped pass a law to make a school for blind people.

OpenStudy (shelby1290):
