Please help me solve the following problem. Three forces are applied to a bracket as shown (click to see picture). The directions of the two 150N forces may vary but the angle between these forces us always 50*. Determine the range of values of the angle (a) for which the magnitude of the resultant of the forces acting at A is less than 600N.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the (a) is an angle?

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a 90 degree angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

be right back... i have to check my solution...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just to complete what i started... solve for angle a first when resultant of given forces equals 600N... Consider the resultant of 2 equal forces of 150N spaced by 50\(^\circ\)... applying arrow-to-tail (see the drawing)|dw:1410676609126:dw| ... a rhombus is formed (shown also 2 obtuse triangles)
