I have a triangle. 2 sides are measured as follows: a=5 and b=2 ; how do I find the height so I can find the area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b^2+x^2=h^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the x just a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should I round it or leave the answer to the hundreths? (5.38)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's usually the smartest, unless the ask for a specific decimal place

I'm a bit confused this is part of another problem. The triangle is as measured and I have to find the surface area. The height of the entire prism is 8. I can't seem to get the right answer.

This problem that I first asked is part of the other problem where the triangle is the base of the prism.

can you help me?
