In the diagram, m∠COE = 55°. If m∠2 = 2x and m∠3 = x+10, what is the measure of angle 2?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Subtract 55 from 180 total degrees of a triangle to get 125. Put 2x and x + 10 together... 3x + 10 = 125 Subtract 10 from both sides... 3x = 115 Divide by 3... x = 38.3333 Now to find the measure of angle 2... 38.333(2) = 76.66666 Don't know if that's a multiple choice question or not, but that's what I got

15 30 45 60 Are the answer choices.

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

D: I guess I did it wrong then lol

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

oh ok I got it this time: so 3x + 10 = 55 Subtract 10 from each side... 3x = 45 Divide by 3... x = 15
