An organism is a thing which shows living characteristics such as respiration (aerobic or anaerobic), growth, use some kind of energy source such as foods, sunlight, dead bodies (other plants or animals) or inorganic substances for their growth and development, excretion of waste products made within it's body due to metabolic activities, reproduction (this can be division of it's own cell when it comes to unicellular organisms) and responding to external stimuli such as light, heat, pressure, chemicals, gravity etc. An organism should not necessarily move to but it can show some movement of it's body parts.
