Help please? o: Solve x2 = –169. undefined 13 ±13 −13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good morning Starfiree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so, x^2 = -169 has no solution, do you know why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good morning xp Not really ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no solution in the real number line anyway, it does have one in imaginary numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok well there is no number that we can multiply by itself to get a negative number. x^2 means the same number multiplied by itself. So since you have x^2 = -169, there is no solution because there isn't a way you can multiply the same number by itself and it be negative
