what is transient analysis

OpenStudy (kenljw):

If you solve a circuit with Laplace Transforms the solution breaks into two parts, the transient and steady state. The transient is the temporary transition within the circuit, once gone your left with the steady state, SS. Sometimes your really don't care about the transient just the SS which can be solved directly. In control theory the transients are important because if not properly set up you may have an event that destroys the process.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

transient analysis upon a system describes the stages of the system when an input is applied to the system till the system reaches its steady state... if wrng plzzz correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now the system can be of different order.... which leads to different transient region. we can also merely say or consider the transient response is the unstable system response which tries to get stable by reaching a steady state... remember when input is applied to the sysytem

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Power up and power down may also be considered inputs along with initial conditions.
