f you have a ratio 3:1 where there are 3 parts of one thing to 1 part of another, you can change it to 3:4 (meaning 3 parts out of a total of 4 parts) for the beef or 1:4 for the ratio of pork to the total this means you can say 1:4 as x:3 where x is the amount of pork to use in 3 pounds total
