Here are several websites I'm sure will help you with a short description so you know what's on them. Most of them focus on emotions themselves, a few at the end talk about emotions in animals. I hope these help you and good luck with your essay! 1. Article about what emotion is and the different theories behind it. http://psychology.about.com/od/psychologytopics/a/theories-of-emotion.htm 2. Further focuses on what emotion is, the behavioral and psychological responses to emotions, and the difference between emotions and moods. http://psychology.about.com/od/emotion/f/what-are-emotions.htm 3. (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THIS LINK. This is actually a book, but it is completely available online at this site.) Talks about the psychology of emotions, feelings, and thoughts; gives a logical look at emotion and discusses the theory behind them; discusses the difference between emotions and feelings, and how to change them; talks about controlling attention and thought. http://cnx.org/contents/bec0829c-d75d-4705-bfba-d4e005811de3 4. This is just a diagram that displays many different emotions and how they relate to eachother in intensity and they type of emotion they are classed as. Can be helpful, depending on where you decide to go with the essay. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/ce/Plutchik-wheel.svg/715px-Plutchik-wheel.svg.png 5. (This is a Wikipedia link, but even they can be useful as long as you cross reference them against another source.) Discusses emotion in animals and they way they display them. Also goes over the different approaches to the examination of emotion in animals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotion_in_animals 6. A scientific approach to the animal mind and the emotions they posses. http://icb.oxfordjournals.org/content/40/6/883.full 7. (This is another book, completely available on this website. I don't know exactly how helpful this one will be, but it should be of use.) Talks about the expression of emotion in humans and animals; the basics of expression and differences between man and animal. http://www.gutenberg.org/files/1227/1227-h/1227-h.htm

If your college library does not offer great reliable web search engine. Make sure your websites ends with .edu .org and something else I don't remember. Because as you know. You can't trust the internet. Especially .com internet content.
