Which expressions would complete this equation so that it has one solution? 4(2x – 3) – 4x = Choose exactly two answers that are correct. A. 4x – 12 B. 3x – 4 C. 3(2x – 6) D. 4(x – 5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is always true, D is never true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4(2x – 3) – 4x distribute the 4 8x-12 -4x 4x-12 which is exactly the same as A (therefore, A is always true, since they are the same)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 4x-12 = 4x-20 can never be true, because you can never find an x that will fit to make that happen. the 4x-20 will always be exactly 8 spaces below the other one, those lines are parallel to each other
