please help will medal and fan. I know the answer to the question but its not written the right way. Given the exponential equation 3x = 27, what is the logarithmic form of the equation in base 10? i know it equals log_3(27)=x but I don't have that as an option http://gyazo.com/a0947c902183bc6820c0192d96aca7eb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

log_3(27) is the same as log(27)/log(3) it doesn't matter what base the log has in that statement, as long as they both have the same base

so my second option? thank you

most modern calculators can work with variable log bases, but older calculators usually only have a log_10 option, so if you need to solve logs with an old calculator, this trick may be handy
