Question about complex numbers...

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

(1-2i)-4i

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

how do i do this?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

@jim_thompson5910 could you help me on a complex problem question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Real parts and imaginary parts can be treated separately. That is to say, \[(a+bi)+(c+di)=\underbrace{(a+c)}_{\text{real parts}}+\underbrace{(c+d)}_{\text{imaginary parts}}i\] This means \[(1-2i)-4i=1+(-2-4)i=1-6i\]

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

ohhhhhhhhhh i see now thanks you
