Can this course be studied with no prior knowledge of calculus?

Not really, it 's meant to be taken at the same time as single variable calculus. You can watch the lectures to get the main ideas, but you need calculus for the actual calculations. i think Coursera has a few algebra based physics classes, if you're interested.

Yeah, I started taking it and SVC at the same time, and then ran into integral calculus in the second chapter! Clearly I'm also supposed to have done high school calculus as well, so now I'm doing SVC first, then I'll do Physics I when that's done.
