Antibodies that are passed on from mother to child are part of _____.

OpenStudy (carolina4567):

Passive immunity. Active immunity is when the body produces antibodies to an antigen found in the body. Passive immunity is antibodies that come from another source other than the body and are temporary. (The mother) The antibodies that come from the mother pass through the placental wall. They tend to be IgG's rather than IgM's and last for about 6 months until the baby is able to make antibodies of their own.
