In some states, you pay a sales tax on items you purchase. A sales tax is a percent of what a customer pays for an item that costs c dollars. The expression 0.07(c – 0.05c) represents the amount of sales tax in a certain state that would be collected on an item that has been discounted by a certain percent. The expression has two factors. What does the factor c – 0.05c represent?

well...the .07 is the 7% sales tax the " c - 0.05c " is the discount....you have a 5% discount
