Can we have a Fitness Section?
Like where users can put things such as diets, exercises, etc.
that would be cool
how we would do that
I think that's a good idea.
well the tech team of Open Study can make a section and then we can post questions like math section and other sections
Sure but i want a Game section
like for example yesterday it was my bday and since people know i do allot of sports i got allot of exercising equipment and idk how to use them, dont know how many i should i do daily to get results and how long should i wait till i see the results and what diet should i have
that would be nice
5 10 15 20
Goku why did you block me
ANybody play sports? what sports do u play Kevin?
I agree with this. Someone get this man a job.
No spamming and @Godsgirl_coco message me
kk
You know what, this place should have a tech part too. The fitness part is a must tho... Nah mean?
ya we should have a fitness section
I mean we could have virtual jumping jacks, relay races, all that good stuff
we have a music section why can't we have a fitness section
Isn't that sorta Health already?
Okay I know the virtual relay races is a bit much but still we NEED a fitness section good thinking again @just_one_last_goodbye
oh and i know someone that always go against my ideas will say why not "health science" health science is for the body such as the reproductive system
thanks @Goku-Kai
that sounds like an awesome idea @just_one_last_goodbye
That is actually a great idea! :)
thanks you @itsbribro
np
This topic has been brought up before, many seem to say that a Fitness Section would fit into the Health Sciences group. Why not just post in the Health Sciences groups? The group needs a push of activity anyway. Link: http://openstudy.com/study#/groups/Health%20Sciences
And look what just got pulled outta the donkey -_-
@Opcode thats for the reproductive system -_- not for our abs or muscles
As @just_one_last_goodbye said health science is for the body such as the reproductive system as fitness is more for exercise and athletics. Two different things bud... @Opcode
Did someone tag me ??????
@Justice500 yes we want you opinion concerning this idea of a athletic section
So.. Whats the question ???
What? Health Sciences is not just for the reproductive system... Health Sciences cover, the areas of diets, nutrition, etc. Fitness is a suitable subgroup for Health Sciences, but not suitable to be a group alone.
why cant it be a group alone?
But think of all the things that a Fitness section could cover, PE, New exercises, work out plans, i mean come on. It's pretty simple.
1. The lack of interest would make it immediately a dead group. 2. Health Sciences cross into the realm of fitness so why not make it a subgroup there.
An exercise or sports topic would be good. Health Sciences is more for like medical things, such as cardiology and such. Exercise and sports would cover things like PE and stretching and whatever.
Look at all the people here who's interested in it tho. I believe it would become very popular among the students on this site and it may attract may people to come join the community of Open Study.
true @Goku-Kai ^_^
Thank you @just_one_last_goodbye *fist bump*
There were more than this many people interested in different language groups... A separate fitness group would most likely not attract any new users either, as there a plenty of online forums on the internet that specialize on the area. Also to end this thread: "Health Sciences covers fitness, nutrition, public health, physical education, and more." Edu resource: http://www.furman.edu/academics/healthsciences/Research-Internship-Opportunities/Pages/default.aspx Health Sciences cover the topic of fitness, there is no need to create a new group for it.
@Opcode but maybe it will keep users that leave daily from leaving ;) by decreasing the percentage for example if i want abs (i already have but just and example) and i get someone to work with me in this section to get me those abs im going to look for more and more ways to keep them and to make it easier not leave and then go all saggy again
Okay... Still how does this add to your argument for a fitness group? Fitness is under health sciences academically.
That is true, but tell me why there is multiple sections for Math and languages all separate from each other? I mean you have a section for language and culture and then there's one for Spanish. Shouldn't they be under the same thing? @Opcode
besides i think this is a perfect idea concerning that we have problems with a user that can evade suspensions and hack other users accounts -_-
yes
1. There are no real separate groups for languages, the only reason Spanish is separate is due to it belong to a MIT OCW. 2. There are no separate mathematics groups, those are subgroups.
@Opcode please stop evading my question -_- will this or will not decrease the amount of users that leave OS daily
@mathmale @marylou004 @micahm @Monster1234
Looking at the statistics, it will not have any or much effect. Notice, the to main groups of activity here are Mathematics and English. People leave when they feel like they are not being helped, etc. Creating another group, such as fitness would make the health sciences group closer to being completely dormant. There are currently way more people interested in being help in the health sciences group, rather than people wanted a fitness group. So if you open a separate group for fitness, all the health science group members activity would decrease in that group. With decrease activity a lot more people would leave. Since there are a lot more people interested in health sciences than fitness there would be more net loss than any profitable gain. So to be short: Your idea would cause more people to leave, rather than bring more people in.
There should actually be less groups then more groups.
Than*
I agree. More people woulbe leaving and less people would be in the groups. Their is really no need to put a fitness group
Health sciences is kinda like a fitness. I wouldn't do it if I were you.
^^
Touche
O_O what is wrong with you people and my own friend betrayed me -_-
ok i didn't want to do this but its time to put this plan at full power
What is OS?
OpenStudy is an educational study help website...
I had a vision... Of a whole world, screaming for mercy. Everyone, tangled in... strings. Strings... No strings on me...
a learning site right? meaning students FROM a school come seeking help from this site
You don't really need to learn how to exercise. If they do, just go on youtube.
ok then and in virtual school do you know what health science talks about ONLY
Really? Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It is the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power. For identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel.
@elliecosme yes but you cant ask questions
Health sciences covers a vast area of topics. I already took the course...
@Goku-Kai Lol you got that from avengers.
We even learn a little bit of sports medicine in health sciences.
and health science ONLY talks about reproduction -_-
Not really a big deal. If you want to put a fitness than put a fitness (I am in between)
well @Opcode you must be getting confused with PE or something cause in health science thats not what they talk about
Well you are in a virtual school... I am not sure of the framework that surrounds them. In a public school, we learn what the state mandates. Simple as that.
@ellie no spmmling -_-
yes but the majority of OS users are from virtual school ^_^ and thats my point we dont have a coach that we can talk to like you since u go to public
Look I have already reasoned why a health science group covers the topic of fitness. I do not see what you are coming at. If you have a counter argument then place it forward.
So not worth it. Their is really no need for a fitness
@Opcode my counter argument is -_- "We the people of Open Study declare a fitness section"
@Monster1234 if your not going to use the section doesn't mean other users are going to do the same
Can't we all just get along?
Okay if you want one the just put one. Not really worth the fighting! Just put one
thank you ^
I do not make the decision on whether or not there is going to a new group. I am just a regular user... All I am doing is saying it is better if we do not have a new group. A subgroup is fine, but a separate group is just not practicable.
@Opcode barely anyone goes into sub groups -_-
I really don't see the harm or the need.. I just am questioning why their is fight over this.
and most people dont know how to get into one
we aren't fighting @Monster1234 we are debating
Okay how about this. Why don't we just rename the group to "Health" and it can be all put together?
It would go together
I agree with @elliecosme
Well academically health sciences cover fitness so there is no need for a separate group. Why create one, when there is a huge risk?
Agreed.
I agree with just last one goodbye.
