A man bought seven adult tickets to a performance and received $2 in change from his $100 bill. What was the cost per ticket? I need alot of help today... lol, please respond! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let t be the cost in $ per ticket. Solve the following for t: 100 = 7t + 2

OpenStudy (butterflyhope):

I tried that and all I did 7 divided by 7 (to cancel it out), then 2 divided by 7, but that doesn't make sense.. 0.0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100 = 7t + 2 98 = 7t 98/7= t 14 = t

OpenStudy (butterflyhope):

Ohhhhhhhhhh now I get it *facepalm* Thanks! :D
