Additionally , it became an effective fund-raising (platform), when the red cross launched a mobile giving campaign that surpassed all expectations.
Is the ( ) the bolded?
YES
OK, well, know what platform means in that context?
LIKE SPACE ?
IDK
or area?
No, like #8 here: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/platform a set of principles; plan.
ok
So, if a platform is a " a set of principles" or a "plan," can you think of a good word to go in there?
thank you so basically my response would be ....i i choose the word (plan ) because the original word (platform) indicates that inorder to become an effective fun raising group you have to have a (plan) ......am i right ?
Yes, plan works. Or program. Any word that shows it was an organized effort.
ok thnx can i ask you one more ?
High - profile users tweeted about the (dirve) too help victims of the earthquake, and many of their followers tweeted and re-tweeted the message, helping theRed Cross raise more than $8 million through text messaging withing 48 hours of the quake.
(drive)
would it be (organization)?
OK, ever heard of a drive in that sense? Like to get money? Ah, no, not organizaton.
:( idk then
so it cant be organization?
Nope. Ever heard of a blood drive? That is where they want a lot of people to donate blood.
yes so it would be an organization that is what a blood drive is depending on who runs it like at my old school last year in sc it was hosa :)
I don't think organization works for drive. The organization does the drive, but it is not the drive. If you were asking for money, would the act of asking be called an organization?
Another really good tool for these is a thesaurus. http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/drive You need to find the part where the context is right, which is NOT a tour or anything to do with a car. But once you have the proper context, you get a pretty good list of words that have the same meaning.
ok thx
So, do you see the part with the right type of drive there? Have a word to use?
