The bacteria has a ATP synthase pump....like the one you see in the electron transport chain within the inner membrane of the mitochondria. The bacteria has the enzyme-pump which has a hydrogen concentration gradient. Every time it pumps a hydrogen (I forgot where), it will make an ATP, which is use to move the flagella. -Biology Graduate
