Identify the number that does not belong with the other three. Explain your reasoning.
It is 26.6 because it cannot be negative
can u answer with at least three sentences because thats what they want
and i dont quite get it
you need to know how numbers are classified. for example, see http://www.basic-mathematics.com/classification-of-numbers.html 3 of your numbers are rational, and one is irrational
If you simplify \[\sqrt{48}\] then you would get a possibilirty if a negative number. -55.1 is already negative. So is -51/2 The only positive is 26.6. Therefore that is the answer
You are looking for rational as opposed to irrational. Three are rational and one is not.
negative numbers have nothing to do with the correct answer to this.
so ? :( im confused and i dont have mcuh time
@Ibbutibbu. that is incorrect.
Oh. sorry
Three of those numbers are rational. Rational numbers a. are repeating decimals b. terminating decimals, or c. can be expressed as a fraction. The square root of 48 is irrational because when you plug in the square root of 48 on your calculator, you get a decimal that does not repeat, nor does it terminate. It just goes on and on...
so that is the coorect answer ? are u sure ?
Um....yes, I'm quite sure. (High school math teacher and all...)
