The cost of purchasing and mailing party invitations is $2.75. If the cards are purchased at 3 for 10 cents and each requires a 5 cents stamp, how many cards were purchased?

Is the equation "0.03x+0.05= 2.75"?
Well, not quite, but close. That .05 you have there has to be multiplied by the number of cards you have, because it costs 5 cents per card. The way you have it, you are only paying 5 cents to mail them all.
