Solving systems of equations by substitution. 13) -3x+3y=4 -x + y=3 Every time I go to solve it , it cancels out x and y. Need help Please.!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3x+3y=4 -> eqn 1 -x + y=3 -> eqn 2 rearrange eqn 2 y=x+3 substitute eqn 2 in eqn 1 -3x+3(x+3)=4 -3x+3x+9=4 0=-5 -> not possible therefore, it means that the graph of these two equations do not intersect. therefore no solution :)
