What is the median of the data set 12, 14, 10, 8, 12, 2?

OpenStudy (mitu12):

To find the Median, place the numbers in value order and find the middle number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk how

OpenStudy (mitu12):

order them from least to greatest and you will have 10 and 12 in middle you add them up and get 22 then divide the sum by 2 to get.....?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

22÷2=11

OpenStudy (mitu12):

yes

OpenStudy (mitu12):

your median is 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about In the data set 38, 46, 38, 97, 43, 51, 39, which number is an outlier

OpenStudy (mitu12):

97 because Outlier is a number in a set of data that is either way smaller or way bigger than most of the data

OpenStudy (mitu12):

any questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah theres afew left @mitu12

OpenStudy (mitu12):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which measure of central tendency represents the numbers that appear most often in a set of data? is it median or maybe even range @mitu12

OpenStudy (mitu12):

are those the only choices

OpenStudy (mitu12):

i thought it was mode but thats not a choice so then i think median because it is also a central tendency

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no theres more those are just my possible choices @mitu12

OpenStudy (mitu12):

could you give all of them please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meanmedianmoderange

OpenStudy (mitu12):

mode

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry mean, median, mode, range

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yay

OpenStudy (mitu12):

The mode is the value that appears most often in a set of data

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll remember that one more than the others Which measure of central tendency represents the middle number in a set of data? mean median mode range (i'm trying to remember was this mean?")

OpenStudy (mitu12):

its median think of the miDDle as meDian

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay i'll be taking notes thank you alot

OpenStudy (mitu12):

no problem
