Could you help explain this to me? Fan \Medal

OpenStudy (lexi724):

• How can postulates and theorems relating to similar and congruent triangles be used to write a proof?

OpenStudy (lexi724):

@abb0t

OpenStudy (rational):

This is a descriptive question, so just describe whatever you know about their role in writing a proof

OpenStudy (rational):

You may start by : Most geometric proofs involve similar and congruent triangles... <add what ever you know>

OpenStudy (lexi724):

@rational so could i do .... Most geometric proofs involve similar and congruent triangles thus meaning that measurements and angles should have a common property when trying to prove postulates and theorums?

OpenStudy (rational):

Exactly! something like that will do ! the important thing is to write down something let me rephrase it slightly :)

OpenStudy (lexi724):

alright :)

OpenStudy (rational):

Most complicated geometric proofs involve similar and congruent triangles. The theorems and postulates related to similar/congruent triangles can be used to prove the triangles are similar and then CPCTC can be used to setup proportions of corresponding parts of similar triangles so that it results in making some very useful conclusions about the sides and angles.... <fill up the a page or two>
