well you need to use the ratio of corresponding sides in similar triangles if you split the triangles you get |dw:1410641528717:dw| you need to find y 1st so using ratio of corresponding sides in similar triangles being equal you get \[\frac{2}{y} = \frac{y}{12}\] so \[y^2 = 24\] find y, then find x using pythagoras' theorem. hope it helps
