IN SOME pond ecosystems, insects use surface tension to stand on the surface of the water. If there was no surface tension the water would break and insects would drown.
or
The lung excretes surfactant that lowers surface tension because the surface tension of thin liquid layer in lungs of humans is strong, if there was no surface tension the lungs wouldn't be able to fully inflate.

The question is: describe one example of the property (surface tension) affects the functioning of living organisms.
