Okay... in this case the subject is the "variety" meaning a singular noun, so the verb (or helping verb) must ALSO be a singular verb... being the word "has" not "have" - Don't let the word "flowers" throw you off, because in this case, we're not talking about the "flowers", but the "variety" of the flowers..
