To get the same denominator, you multiply 5/6 by 2. \[\frac{ 10 }{ 12 }\] So the equation will now be \[\frac{ -1 }{ 12 } - \frac{ 10 }{ 12 }\] \[= \frac{ -11 }{ 12 }\]
