When taking the mean of female heights vs. mean of male heights. How does having more female than male affect data?
Yes. I guess.
@ChrisTopher987654321 how so?
For example, the data i have collected is comparing the mean height of 197 females to 143 males
297 females**
Oh. probably not. But the female data would be more accurate than the male data for th populations. I "think"
@ChrisTopher987654321 So overall what you are saying is that, it is more likely that average height of females would serve as a better representative sample than the average male height.
that the*
Yes.
okay great. I do happen to have one more question if you wouldn't mind ?
Yeah. Go ahead.
I am given the following information: - the heights of females & males within one biology class - the heights of females & males within the ENTIRE biology class For both of these I have plotted gender vs. average height My assignment instructions ask to plot both data sets on one graph.
What I'm not sure about is would it be best to just plot the individual class height compared to that of the entire class?
I don't understand the difference between the two things?
i am comparing one individual biology class to whole department of biology classes
Oh. ok
So I'd say that the graphs would be different from each other. But without the actual info I can't really say.
Oh. You would just plot the graphs induvidually on the same axiis
Hm ok, well would you suggest that i graph the average for the individual class vs. average of the department of biology classes?
I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to compare the two
What do you mean by Vs?
