on a round trip of 252 miles in each direction, the average rate of travel going was 7 mph more than the rate returning, find the rate for each direction if the entire trip took 21 hours.... how do I set up this problem??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the trip is 252 on the way there and 252 miles on the way back. The formula for the ENTIRE distance of the trip is equal to x = (2 * 252)

Now we also know that the people driving went 7 mph faster than they did on the way back and that the entire trip (both ways) took 21 hours
