help ?? -7y+2=5y-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have to solve for y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankyou :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@avemariab93 attention please !!! there above will be -12y = -9

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

because -5y-7y = -12y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jhonyy9 yes it should be that, i've mad a mistake by not typing it

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

attention please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jhonyy9 yes, i know very sorry, thanks for catching that

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

-9/(-12) missed a minus

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@avemariab93

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... you have to move 5y to the other side:-5y-7y+2=-7 then it will be: -12y+2=-7 you have to now move the 2 to the other side: 12y+2-2=-7-2 now you have :-12y=-9 then move the -12, so you divide it: -12y/-12=-9/(-12) and you will get: y=3/4

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

attention please !!4
