how are force and motion related?

OpenStudy (kohai):

In order to create a force, you have to create a motion So if you were to push on a box or pull your child away from the street, you would be creating a motion and force.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Force is part of dynamics, which is the study of forces and why objects move as they do. A force can be defined as any action that gives rise to an acceleration. In order for an object to start into motion an external force needs to act on the object and make it undergo a displacement, hence go into motion.
