How long does it take for a motorboat traveling at 40 km/h to cross a lake that is 2.0 km wide?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Using dimensional analysis multiply the rate of velocity of the motorboat by the inverse of the 2.0 km distance it needs to cover. This'll give you the time

OpenStudy (georgesyip):

40 km per hour could be change to 11.1 m/s

OpenStudy (georgesyip):

i did that by timing 40 by 1000 that would make it transfer to km and then divide it by 60 and again divide it by 60 this would give you seconds

OpenStudy (georgesyip):

so all you have to do is divide 2km (2000m) by a 11.1m/s then you will get an answer
