Why are controlled burns used as a forest management strategy? A. They kill only the oldest trees. B. They prevent hotter, more destructive fires. C. They kill only the young trees. D. They prevent regrowth of the forest and increase competition.

They use controlled burns to burn old dead trees, because those are easily flammable. We need to get rid of those.

If we didnt they would easily ignite by things like a hot day.. Lightning.. You name it! Thats why controlled burns are important.
