OpenStudy (anonymous):

on what continent did early human first exist

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The super continent. Pangia

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, it was Africa thats where the human race started

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All the continents were together at one point, Josh. It was one giant land mass. Then Tectonic plates shifted, and over billions of years the continents we have today were formed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Didn't the separation if Pangea happen before humans, though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Niko_De_Angelo im not that stupid but i just wanted to says that when humans started existing it was on Africa long after Pangia divided

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@scapeplan @JoshXD "Other scientists have argued that human beings originated in Africa before moving to other regions 150,000 to 200,000 years ago. Homo sapiens discovered in Middle Awash, Ethiopia, from 160,000 years ago were believed to be the oldest 'modern' human beings."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Emphasis on the " oldest 'MODERN' human beings."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(poker face)...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you agree with us?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Partially. I believe that the first CIVILIZATIONS were in Africa.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

philosophical dispute!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's why I said oldest 'modern' human beings. I'm using 'modern' in the context of 'somewhat civilized'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you talking about evolution now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not necessarily the evolution of humans as much as the evolution of the tools and structure of the society.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In any case homo diverged from other hominids in Africa, and evolution continued in Africa. The question isn't about civilization but early humans, so I still think Op's answer should be Africa.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@asofaafetai im really sorry for all the confusion we have caused the answer is Africa

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I'm saying is the Civilizations started in Africa. But early human remains are being found from earlier and earlier times. So there is no way of knowing for sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Scientists could be forced to re-write the history of the evolution of modern man after the discovery of 400,000-year-old human remains. Until now, researchers believed that homo sapiens, the direct descendants of modern man, evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago and gradually migrated north, through the Middle East, to Europe and Asia. Recently, discoveries of early human remains in China and Spain have cast doubt on the 'Out of Africa' theory, but no-one was certain" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1341973/Did-humans-come-Middle-East-Africa-Scientists-forced-write-evolution-modern-man.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(facepalm)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But yes your TEST ANSWER is gonna be Africa. Because that is the widely accepted answer. Kind of like how people thought the world was flat.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My personal opinion is China. Think about it. If Africa was where humans were at first, then why is it the least evolved country?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Africa isn't a country.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And it's not the "least evolved" just because it's poor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry. Africa is the LEAST DEVELOPED CONTINENT.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nikos partially right Oceania also suffers a bit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and also asia i thinkk has some bad areas like bangladesh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

facepalm again
