Which substance forms when magnesium metal reacts with acid?

Typically magnesium will dissolve in acid to form magnesium ion (Mg2+), hydrogen gas is typically produced as well.

Unless it specifies what the acid is. If the acid is HCl for example I believe it will form magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas
