are y=1/4x+9 and y=4x-9 parallel, perpendicular, or neither?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perpendicular likes have inverse reciprocals for slopes, like 2 and -1/2 parallel have the same slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have a slope of 1/4 and a slope of 4, what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

Both these equations are of the form y = mx + c where m = slope of the line. 2 perpendicular lines have product of their slopes = -1.
