A capsized sailboat is 8 kilometers directly north of a lighthouse.A coast guard ship is 15 kilometers directly east of the same lighthouse. How far is the Coast Guard ship from the capsized sailboat?

I was solving this problem on the other question you posted.

Your picture is off by just a little. It says the coast guard ship is 15 east of hte lighthouse. Your picture has the coast guard ship 15 km from the sailboat!

Yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you do it the way @onemillion6 said, your equation would look like (15)^2+(8)^2=c^2

First, square the numbers.

This is physic i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can also use Sin, Cos, and Tan.
