15 - 2 = 13 is like saying I have $15 and the product costs $2. So after buying it, I'll have $13 left. ------------------------------------- 2 - 15 = -13 is like saying I have $2 and I buy a product that costs $15. Therefore, I'll be 13 dollars in debt.
