Sorry Just joined and I was looking at the site!! You are trying to translate the math equation in to English. When subtraction is involved the terms you use can be difference, less than or taken away. Quotient involves division and and more than involves addition. So you are left with A and D. its not the difference because the difference witll be the same wheter its p-2 or 2-p. Pretend p=5. the difference between 2 and 5 is 3. This equation is more specific. 2-p if p=5 is -3. So 2 is decreased by a number of 5. Does that help?

Yes thank you..
