You have just started a colony on Mars. One of the biggest concerns for the colony is government. What is your colony going to do? You must discuss three topics. First, of the five government types discussed in the lesson, what type will you use to make sure your colony operates smoothly? Second, what powers will your government have, and what powers will the people living in the colony have? Third, explain why you believe the government type you choose is the best option for your colony.

Hi, you have learnt 5 types of gov't, so you should start off by choosing which you think will run best. I'm guessing the one's you learnt are fascist, communist, democratic, monarchy, and dictatorship. Or something like that. What were they exactly?

That's a common answer for most North Americans. But do you think it would operate smoothly, or lead to corruption, chaos and disorder?

Seems people have different interpretations on what the five types are. In history (let's use examples) which do you think worked best?
Communism - Russia/China - has led to starvation for Ukraine and corruption. May have worked if the government didn't turn corrupt. Worked/works in Sweden verryyyyy well. No free/mixed economy usually leads to its downfall.
Fascism/Dictatorship - the big one is Hitler's Germany. As morally evil as it was, it worked very good. You'd need a scapegoat and a large goal though, to keep the people happy. Allows for free market, which is a bonus.
Democracy - America - It's okay, I suppose. Depends on whether the people agree to it though, and is actually very unstable. People call the US an aristocracy cause of how large the poverty gap has become.
A monarchy - sorta hard to do now, cause no one believes in being born rich/privileged anymore. Worked well in Britain, making it rule a third of the world. Allows for patriotism. Also worked for the emperors in China

Oh, I forgot Aristocracy. That's a load of BS though, so best to avoid it. Just that rich rule the poor and has led to a lot of revolutions, strife and whatnot
