Two numbers differ by 57. Their sum is 185. Find the numbers. I'm confused about what the equation should be.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x+x+57=185\] would work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or even \[x+x-57=185\] depending on whether you solve for the larger one or the smaller one

I got x=64. And I just add 57 to get the other number, right?
